Whether you have a new puppy that you need guidance with or an older dog that needs to be trained to be safe around livestock, I run residential courses with a very high success rate.
These courses are tailored to the individual dog owner’s needs and the needs of your dog.
Local sessions consist of two appointments usually a fortnight apart. This gives you time to implement the new house rules and practice what you have been taught before coming back for the second recall session.
For owner with dog residential training, a minimum of one week is required unless you have been before in which case we can do a refresher course over three days.
We will assist with finding dog-friendly accommodation in the locality
Would your ideal dog be one that didn’t pull you when on a lead, was calm when meeting people and other dogs and came back when told? Help is at hand. I can help train you with your dog.
Basic commands – walking to heel on and off lead
Behaviour rehabilitation – snapping, biting, chewing, barking
What can I say? Well, mick is a 100 %brilliant dog/human trainer. Do what Mick advises and do the homework Mick gives; my pup is 10 months, and with Mick, as a trainer, he is now stock trained walks to heel, and his recall is brilliant, beep collar worked brilliantly with stock training as he could have easily been a dead dog with trying to round up sheep so the Beep- e collar has totally helped, and my pup will not end up being a dead dog.
Totally 100% recommend it. Feel like part of the family; a cup of coffee and chat about training make you feel more relaxed. Thank you, Mick and lovely Mandy. X x x
Amazing results - I cannot believe the difference after spending time with Mick. Instead of dreading our walks, it is now a sheer pleasure and to see Barney enjoy himself so much is such a joy.
Highly recommend that you seek Mick for behaviour problems with your pet.
Mick patiently taught my husband and Bella the B to work together. She's still mad, but at least she's mad and comes home when called....more than I can say for the husband, LoL.
Having just spent a training weekend at Airds Farmhouse with my 15-month-old Springer Spaniel, I would like to thank Mick for his excellent training and guidance and both him and Mandy for making me so welcome.
I have come home with new training methods and, more importantly, an understanding of how and why they work.
This is the start of a new training regime for myself and Ollie, and thanks to Mick, I am confident I will see big improvements in his behaviour before too long. Airds Farmhouse is a lovely place to stay and highly recommended!
After our second visit today, I have just been out with Spud to try some follow up training... I have a magician dog... He was perfect at recall, and I threw a stick to hunt for a reward... The stick, however, was non-retrievable, so Spud improvised by bringing me an empty cake box.
All went well until the last 5 minutes when he took off after a scent in the woods... Once he returned, he walked home well... Thank you for all the tips to train me as well as Spud.
He's not bad for months, and pleased I got the training now while he is young enough to mound into a cracking dog...
A straightforward no-nonsense approach without gimmicks or treats which is how things used to be done highly recommend working canines.
