From Steve Jamieson, the  owner of an excellent working cocker:

"Hi Mick

Thought I'd drop you a quick thanks for all your help with Baxter my (then) 11 month old cocker spaniel. We'd been having issues with the recall and after marley beach incident came to you for help on recommendation from Brian S at workingcocker.co.uk. After just one 1 to 1 session had a major improvement and came back for a second to do some fine tuning which is a fantastic achievement given I'd spent previous 6 months on other failed training classes. Now i have a wry smile when i see other dog owners shouting themselves hoarse at their own marleys and think that's not me any more! :-)

Many Thanks

Steven "

Thanks to Stan and Karla, keep up the good work !!

"I contacted Mick as our lovely Lucas (1yr old English Springer Spaniel) was out of control when going for walks and pulled us all over the place. It really took the enjoyment out of walking him so we needed help. Mick was straight to the point and advised us what we were to do and not to do which helped INSTANTLY. Within a few minutes, Lucas was walking on a lead beside us and knew his place. Mick also showed us how to get Lucas to recognise and understand our commands and within no time, he really was a different dog. Mick asked us to do the homework he had prepared and also to try and follow some rather basic instructions which were effortless but really worked. We now LOVE walking Lucas and he knows what to do/not to do and Mick even trained Lucas to come back to us on the whistle. That was amazing to see and i am even more amazed we now have mastered that skill from Mick's tuition. We cannot thank Mick enough and we are more than willing to be contacted by anyone thinking about using his service. Stan,Karla, Ryan and Lucas "

From Sue, now a good friend, from St Andrews. Thanks

"I became owner of Enzo (springer spaniel) when he was 9 months old and I was

aware of some of his history but as most rehomed dogs there would be gaps.

Initially a problem with dominance then the persistent and familiar one of

recall or lack of it. We attended obedience, agility & scent & tracking

classes with minor goals achieved ( in part due to the size of classes and

not much individual assistance as a result). I then stumbled upon Micks

website and contacted him immediately starting with the initial assessment

which was hopeful followed by further progress with our subsequent training

sessions. The most important part of the training that he offers is the one

to one and is as much about the owner as the dog. He set me straight about a

few things and also showed Enzo who was boss. Progress was slow but he was

always there to give confidence in maintaining a particular regime. I¹ve had

my ups a downs with Enzo, who is an amazingly stubborn dog, however, I now

have a level of recall that is more than acceptable although not achieving

the amazing standards Mick gets from his dogs. Micks strengths are his

understanding and liking of gun dog breeds, in particular spaniels,

something that I have to say cannot be said of all dog trainers, and his

patience with the problem owners. I wonder what would have happened had I

found Mick when I first got Enzo !!!! I nearly gave up on Enzo and Mick gave

me my dog back. I can only add that I would highly recommend Mick to any dog

owner (pet or working dog). A dogs and owners start in life with Mick¹s

instruction would be wags and smiles all round........."
