Our Services
We offer three different types of gundog training which all rely on basic obedience training. Once the pupil is to the required standard we can then progress to the next level and train the dog for use as either a roughshooting, beating or picking up dog. We also offer basic obedience training for most breeds and also, an additional service of house calls to assess and rectify problems in the home.
We aim to, on a one to one basis, assist with most breeds of dog for those of you who need help with obedience training. The one to one training can be done on an hourly basis, which would allow a time slot to suit the owners schedule. A weekend slot is now available in the mornings for owners who struggle to make a weekday session. As you can imagine these are booked well in advance so please get in touch for available dates.
We can also offer this service to owners of gundog breeds, who would prefer to be with their dog during a training session.
Alternatively we can accomodate the trainee for one, two, three, or six weeks and put him/her through our relaxed residential course. The course duration would be agreed after your requirements were discussed on an initial contact phonecall.
At the end of a six week residential course you can expect your dog to be walking, on and off the lead to heel, have good recall ,obeying hand and whistle signals, and retrieving to hand. This we expect from all dogs by the age of fifteen months. Older dogs will be taken for training, but we prefer to have them between six and twelve months old if possible.
We do 99% of all our training outside. We only ever take one clients dog on at a time as a residential trainee, this allows us to totally dedicate our time to that particular dog. We do not hard train dogs and work to the individual dogs capabilities.
One of our training areas is a beautiful country park in South West Fife, which offers a varied terrain. The dogs will experience lots of different conditions, and most training scenario's can be catered for in this countryside environment. Please look at Our training areas to view
